Monster Fest Rating: I still know what you did last summer.
Four bloody knuckles!! This film continues from its predecessor just right!
The Fisherman is back and he’s got a hook to pick with Julie James again played by Jennifer Love Hewitt.
This time he manages to trick her and her college friends to an island getaway during a hostile hurricane season however Julie and her friends seem to have their defenses at the ready. With little to no communication, no ships sailing, and the body count rising…this could be one vacation Julie will never come back from.
No matter how ready they are, The Fisherman always seems to be two steps ahead of them…could someone be helping him?
I won’t reveal much again, but I will say this film is smart, epic and easily worth the rating. It’s just as good as the first one.
Jennifer Love Hewitt is still hawt… Anyways check it out if you haven’t!
Monster Fest Rating: I know what you did last summer.
Four bloody knuckles!!
This was one of the big slasher films from the 90s along with Scream. I’ve been eagerly awaiting to see if it lives up with age and it does.
During a wild 4th of July evening four friends accidentally run over a pedestrian. Instead of reporting it to the police decides to dump his body in the ocean and keep the secret to their Graves.
Well be careful what you wish for…because someone knows what they did and is happy to give em one way ticket to death.
All while dressed as a Fisherman this mysterious man is stalking, maiming, and making the teens’ lives a living hell. The Fisherman won’t stop until each one is dead unless they turn the tables on his first.
I won’t reveal much, but I will say this film is smart, epic and easily worth the rating.
The plot gets convoluted at times but that’s why it’s not a five…plus Jennifer Love Hewitt is hawt… Anyways check it out if you haven’t!
The Djinn is back…and in small doses. This movie was so bad that the original actor who voiced and played the Djinn left the series before this movie could be created.
This resulting film is not making fun of those who carried on or made the movie but damn if it isn’t trying to be a good one. So the Djinn is back and he’s trying to bring more Djinn into this dimension as he’s released on a college campus.
However we don’t see much of him, we follow a boring woman’s story, her love sick boyfriend, and all sorts of the Djinn asking where she is while being in the guise of her teacher. The Djinn hardly gets revenge on these damn college kids until after an hour or so…
There were some cool battle sequences but my suspense of disbelief was gone whereas my dislike grew.
Eventually they did stop the Djinn but…it was obtuse
Ah yes Wishmaster, a 1994 horror classic at least to me. This movie dealt with wishes, souls, and an evil monster known as the Djinn. Unlike a traditional genie, he’s very much malevolent spirit who wants to bring his buddies into our dimension by using our deepest most desires to do so.
This movie was underrated in its time, it also featuring cameos by plenty of horror icons too. It also seemed like everyone was having a great time making the film too.
I enjoyed seeing the carnage, struggles, and effects in the film. I actually cared enough to see how the main character would survive the Djinn’s cruel game. The way things were arranged and how charismatic the Djinn was made this easily a 5 bloody knuckles rating.
You all screamed for it, and now you’re getting it J-Man is discussing some more urban legends or scary stories for tonight. He will be using the book “Urban Legends” by James Proud as a basis and he’ll discuss some other stories that could be real or false depending on how plasuble or ironic it is.
